What Is Salvation?
Salvation is the act of being saved, helped or spiritually delivered from sin and death.
Many years ago the church I attend had a lovely picnic. We had a wonder time in the Lord. After eating, two of my good friends and I decided to go swimming. What a mistake on my part! After diving into the water, all of my strength failed me. I began to sink and my whole life flashed before me in a moment of time like an open book. In desperation I called out for help. One of my good friends dived into the water to rescue me. Thank God for friendship. He realized I was truly drowning and came to my rescue. I shall forever be grateful to my good friend and the lifeguards that rescued me from a physical death.
Just like my friend stepped up to rescue me, Jesus gladly gave His life to save all mankind from sin. Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection made it possible for mankind to be delivered from the penalty of sin; and eternal separation from God.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
St. John 3:16
The bible says, “For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous” Romans 5:19. Jesus made it possible for all to be saved. Salvation is for you, but the choice to accept the salvation of the Lord or reject it is up to you.
Will you reject salvation and be eternally separated from God?
Or will you accept salvation and have eternal life with God? If I were you I would choose life.
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” II Peter 3:9.
God loves us; he wants you and me to be saved. Jesus “stand at the door and knocks if any man hear [his] voice and open the door, Jesus will come in and sup with him, and he with Jesus Revelations 3:20.
You can be saved now. God is a forgiver of sins. It doesn't matter how small, how big, how severe, or how long you have been in sin. When we come to God with a broken spirit and a contrite heart, He will not turn us away.
“And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” Jeremiah 31:34
“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases.”
Psalm 103:2,3
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9
Come just as you are He will accept you and give you the gift of salvation. The steps to salvation are as simple as A-B-C:
A – Acknowledge that you are a sinner – Romans 3:23
B – Believe that Jesus died for your sins – John 3:16, Colossians 1:13,14
C – Confess your sins and receive the salvation of God – II Peter 3:9, I John 1:9
The Bible says “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” Romans 10:8-10. We must Believe, Repent, Confess, and forsake.
Say this simple prayer, accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and begin your new life in Christ.
Dear Jesus, I'm a sinner, forgive me of all my sins I'm a sinner, I accept you as my lord and savior. Thank you, for the gift of Salvation. Also now that you are saved you can now ask God to baptize with the gift of the Holy Spirit to empower your life to be and affective witnesses for the lord Jesus in your everyday walk with him according to, Acts 2:4.
Holiness, Holiness, Holiness
We are living in a day when holiness seems to be a cliché, or thing of the past. In all reality, in the modern day we live in, God is still calling us to be holy. The bible tells us in Hebrews 12:14 “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.”
We must understand that God commands all his people to be holy. In this passage of scripture, the Apostle Paul tells us to follow or pursue peace with all mankind, and be holiness, and without it no man will see the Lord. In actuality, Paul is saying - holiness is not an option it's a command and all must meet God's standard of holiness.
Without holiness we cannot see God. I Thessalonians 4:7 let us know “For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.” God has not changed his mind concerning holiness. We must be holy!
The International Webster's Dictionary defines holy as being devoted to a sacred use, consecrated, hallowed, of highest spiritual purity, saintly, to be sanctified, pure, righteousness.
Holiness means sanctification: a set apart life for the purpose of God's use. It's a lifestyle of moral and ethical wholeness. Holiness is freedom from moral evils and godliness. Holiness is acting like God, loving like God, and treating people like God wants us to treat them. Holiness is living like God wants us to live: pure, sanctified, righteous, and peaceable with all mankind.
God's holy nature requires us to be holy. Leviticus 11:44-45 says, “For I am the Lord your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that crepe upon the earth. For I am the Lord that bringeth you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.
Holiness is God's righteous demand for his followers. “Ye may put difference between holy and unholy and between unclean and clean” Leviticus 10:10. God lets His people know they must put a difference between that which is sanctified and Godlike, and that, which is common. We can't be holy and unholy at the same time. Neither can we be clean and unclean at the same time. We must be holy and clean unto the Lord. God's standard is holiness and nothing less.
God is holy, heaven is a holy place, and we the people of the living God must be holy. God will not accept anything less from us. Holiness describes the righteous nature of God. In Exodus 20:8 God demands and commands Moses to tell his people to keep the Sabbath day holy. In Leviticus 20:7 God says, “Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.” We can and must be holy.
We cannot throw holiness out the back door. We can't lie, cheat, steal, backbite, hate, or destroy one another and remain holy. You must be holy.
II Corinthians 7:1 says, “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” We cannot live any kind of way and get God's approval on our lives and our ministries.
God requires us to walk worthy of the holy calling to which he calls us. Rom 6:22 says, “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.” We must sanctify ourselves for the Lord. God demands that of us. We can't live life like the devil and expect God to bless our lives. It's holiness or hell.
Isaiah 35:8 says, “A highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called the way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.”
Beloved holiness is God's way. And since holiness is God's way, it's the right way. True holiness is not wearing a three-piece suit, Nor is it wearing a long dresses, fancy hats, and scarf. Beloved even going to church every Sunday does not make us holy, I'M saying that it is wrong to wear this apparels, but what I'm saying is that God looks at the motives of our hearts. Beloved when our hearts are pure with God we will act right ,walk right, talk right and dress right.
TRUE HOLINESS is walking pure and upright before God everyday of our lives, at all time, in all things.
We are to treat people like God treats them and to keep our lives and characters pure before God and man so that we may please God. Luke 1:74-75 says, “That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.”
The New International Webster's Pocket Dictionary says a testimony is an oral or verbal statement of a witness in a court: any public acknowledgment or declaration, as of a religious experience.
The word of God says “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto death” Revelations 12:11.
The saints of old left us their testimonies that they were over comers. They didn't die in defeat when their faith was tested, but they overcame the devil by the blood of Jesus and the word of their testimony. Out of the test came the testimony.
Hebrews 9:22 says “And all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”
What can wash away my sins? Nothing, but the blood of Jesus
What can make me whole again? Nothing, but the blood of Jesus
Romans 5:9 says “Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” Jesus' blood justifies us before God, just as if we were never guilty.
Beloved when we come to God with sincerity and ask him to forgive us of our sins and we forsake them, He forgives us of them.
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteous”
I John 1:9
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace”
Ephesians 1:7
“And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven” Colossians 1:20
The saints stood on the eternal word of God, leaving a record that there is victory over the devil. We can have the same testimony. Our testimonies are rebuke to the devil, yet bring glory and honor to God.
Beloved it's testimony time. Don't let the devil steal your testimony. I encourage you to send us your victorious testimonies and let us rejoice with you.
We will be waiting to hear from you. Remember, you overcome by the blood of the lamb and by the words of your testimony.
